In the recently revamped Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training program, staff will build skills in preventing, decelerating, and managing challenging situations and behaviors in ways that prioritize care and minimize risks. Behavior is often complex; the NVCI program provides staff with a consistent behavior management protocol that can be used with all students in all environments. The majority of the program (units 1-7) focuses on teaching staff a range of positive, proactive, and nonphysical approaches to prevent and/or decelerate risk behaviors. The NVCI training program provides staff with an essential knowledge base for supporting the whole child and promoting a culture of care within our schools. A must have toolkit for all school employees!
